West cancelled his “Today Show” performance after the fallout from the interview. Sore Loser Kanye West was all smiles before the 2007 VMAs and appeared onstage with fellow rapper 50 Cent (above). But after being nominated for five Moon Men and walking away with empty-handed, West was quite vocal about his disappointment, reportedly yelling backstage that he would “never return to MTV.” Caught On Tape …And that backstage outburst was caught on tape. Yikes. Not Helping The Cause While performing at a 2005 Live 8 concert in Philadelphia, Kanye reportedly referenced AIDS as a “man-made disease” that was “placed in Africa just like crack was placed in the black community to break up the Black Panthers.” Blame It On The Alcohol When Kanye lost the Best Video award to Justice at the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards, he decided to voice his opinion on the matter. Instead of taking the news of his loss quietly, West jumped up on stage to spew a profanity-filled tirade about how his video for “Touch The Sky” should have won instead.
Kanye West plays live for the first time since Yeezus release
See above for fan footage of West’s surprise appearance. The video shows Scott, who helped to produce ‘New Slaves’, asking for the lights to be turned down at the El Rey Theater before West emerges to a shocked and clearly ecstatic crowd and launches into the ‘Yeezus’ favourite. During West’s performance, the crowd join in with many of the track’s lyrics and then begin moshing enthusiastically. West leaves the stage at the end of the song to a deafening roar. West released his ‘Yeezus’ album on June 18 and has since unveiled the finished interactive video for ‘Black Skinhead’, its first single. An unfinished version of the video had leaked several weeks previously, prompting a Twitter rant from the rapper, who branded the leak “heartbreaking”.
The Sun, a paper more virtuous as a makeshift coaster than as a news source, writes amazingly that Kanye West, eager to share his taste in fashion with the one-week-old heir to the British throne, has shipped Prince George of Cambridge “mini versions of Kanye’s [clothing], including skinny jeans and hoodies.” (!) Regarding whether royal protocol requires William and Kate to acknowledge this gift of tiny streetwear, an insider tells The Sun, “It depends if the Cambridges want to dress him in it.” Some might interpret this report as meaning that Kanye West specially produced miniature versions of the capsule collection he co-designed recently with A.P.C. , but we prefer envisioning the rapper pulling pieces from his own closet and requesting that they be duplicated in smaller sizes for the future king. In a Kanye West kind of way, this gift would be really sweet. (Alternative theory: Kanye caught wind of the fact that Duchess Kate is planning to dress George in 19th-century hand-me-down gowns and vowed to get him some more current clothing, stat.) As long as this is not the first step in a master, 30-year plan to woo Prince George into marrying North West one day, we support Kanye and Prince George’s Brotherhood of the Traveling Skinny Jeans. The home, a designated national landmark, is currently owned by Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. The Star quotes an anonymous source close to Kardashian as saying, There have been constant whispers that its due to go on the market, as long as it stays open to the public and as a place for Elvis fans to visit. Kanye is really excited about the possibility of owning it. He thinks it would be really cool if he, Kim and baby Nori lived there, at least some of the time. In May, CORE Media Group, which owns Elvis Presley Enterprises, announced it was seeking $200 million in a deal to sell the operation that oversees tours of Graceland and controls licensing, merchandising and music publishing for the King of Rock and Roll, along with television, film, video and Internet projects in the United States and worldwide. The deal would also include Muhammad Ali Enterprises.
Kanye West, John Legend & More Best Music Videos of the Week (VIDEO)
A few weeks ago Kanye West blew his visit this page lid in a very Kanye way when the unfinished video for BLKK SKKN HEAD was leaked online. Now the finished product is here, and its unlike anything hes has done before. The entirely black and white video is completely computer generated, featuring a motion-capture Kanye, spooky eyes in black hoods, and dogs. Not only that, but heading to Wests website allows users to interact with the video. Viewers can speed up, slow down, and take pictures while watching. Franz Ferdinand: Love Illumination Franz Ferdinand is back and even better than last week.
Kanye West reportedly looking to buy Graceland
Watch footage of the gig below. It was believed that Yeezy’s recent fatherhood was the main reason for him not touring to promote the LP – despite rumours of more shows coming soon. West’s appearance saw Travi$ Scott talking to the audience at the El Rey Theatre in LAand asking the technicians to shut off the lights. After getting the crowd warmed up, music began before Kanye appeared from the shadows to peform with Scott to a flood of applause. The duo then performed a rendition of ‘New Slaves’ together. Watch Travi$ Scott and Kanye West perform ‘New Slaves’ below: Kanye West noteably played ‘New Slaves’ on Saturday Night Live, when Ben Affleck was hosting. West showcased several tracks from his new album in live shows throughout the period leading up the release of Yeezus which has had a divided critics and fans alike. More shows are believed to be on the horizon, after Yeezus contributing producer took to Reddit earlier this year, where he was questioned about whether there was going to be a Yeezus tour and whether he would be taking part in Kanye’s band. He replied: “Yes and yes.” While West went out on a joint tour with Jay-Z to promote their collaborative album, Watch The Throne, and he has recently performed a number of high-profile festival shows, the US rapper has gone on a solo world tour in a number of years after he didn’t do so for 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
